Mindfulness Techniques for Managing Stress and Improving Focus
Definition:
Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally focusing attention on the present moment with a nonjudgmental and accepting attitude. Originating from Buddhist meditation, mindfulness has been adapted into secular therapeutic approaches, such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). It has been shown to enhance stress management, improve focus, and promote overall mental well-being by reducing rumination and increasing emotional regulation (Kabat-Zinn, 1990).
